(From mid-June to mid-September by bus) you will reach the characteristic village of Orta by bus from Stresa and then, after a short trip by boat, the Island of San Giulio, a little jewel with a cloistered Benedictine monastery.

(On Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from mid-April to mid-October) day trip by train to Domodossola and then on to Locarno running through the spectacular sights of the Vigezzo, Centovalli and Ossola valleys; the trip ends with a cruise on Lake Maggiore back to Stresa.

Ferry to Intra with a stop at Villa Taranto to visit the famous botanical gardens, then by boat to Laveno and by cable car up to the top of the Mountain Poggio Sant’Elsa where you can admire the view. This trip continues by bus to Santa Caterina to visit the picturesque hermitage clinging to a rock face directly overhanging the lake and ends by boat back to Stresa.

VILLA-TARANTO

Visit the 18-hectare park with more than 60 species of mammals and birds and some wild specimens saved by the forest ranger that would not survive if released into the wild.

VILLA-PALLAVICINO

The spectacular Rocca di Angera is the perfectly harmonious accumulation of five different constructions, built starting from the 11th century until the 17th with frescos from the 14th century, the Museum of toys and dolls, the Medieval garden.

Visit the Statue of Saint Charles Borromeo, about 35 metres tall. Visitors can climb a winding staircase and a steep ladder to reach the head of the saint, in the meantime experiencing the internal structure. Visit the park of Rocca di Arona of which only ruins remain as it was destroyed in 19th century.

In only one hour by train you reach Milan where we suggest visiting the Duomo, the glass-roofed Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the Teatro Alla Scala, the Sforza castle, the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Navigli district.

Day trip by bus to one of the most famous alpine villages, located at 5,315 ft above sea level with its typical houses of the Walser people. Zermatt is surrounded by some of the most famous peaks in the Alps: the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and the Gornergrat.

TRA-LAGHI-E-MONTAGNE

Visit the Baroque Palace and Italian garden of Isola Bella, lunch in one of the traditional restaurants of Isola Pescatori after a walk around its small village and end with a visit to the 16th century Palace and English garden of Isola Madre.
